Follow these steps to scan from an HP Printer to a mobile device using HP Smart:
- For printers with a scanner glass, lift the scanner lid.
- Place the document or photo to scan in the Automatic Document Feeder or on the scanner glass, using the guides for correct placement.
- For printers with a scrolling scanner, load the document or photo to scan print-side up, and flush against the paper guide on the right side of the scanner.
- The printer pulls the document or photo partially into the scanner, and the scan light brightens.
- On your device, open HP Smart.
- Tap the Scan tile.
- For iPhones or iPads, set the capture source to Scanner.
- Tap the Settings icon, and choose the scan source or input source.
- Adjust any other desired scan settings, and then tap Done or Close.
- For iPhones or iPads, tap the blue shutter button to begin the scan.
- For Android devices, tap Scan to begin the scan.
- From the preview, tap the Edit icon to change any desired settings, and then tap Done.
- To scan any additional pages, tap the Additional Pages icon.
- With all pages scanned, you can rename your scan, save, print, and share it through HP Smart.
